The Lion's Den is a Filipina-founded, DMV-based dance & wellness community dedicated to creating spaces for people to freely express themselves. We're a welcoming hub that believes how you move in your body impacts how you move in the world. Through heart-centered programming and community-focused practices, The Lion's Den provides in-person and virtual classes, events, workshops, and performance opportunities to help cultivate confidence and new connections.
We got our humble start in 2017, renting space at a Safeway supermarket, and have since partnered with countless local small businesses and arts organizations including The Kennedy Center, Dance Place, and many more!

Dancer’s Roulette is back, this time as an RnB Cypher Jam!
A cypher jam is an event where the communal energy is funneled through cypher circles over a traditional bracket competition system. Dancers take turns going continuously into the cypher, matching the vibe, having conversations through their movements, and interacting with others through social connection and call-out battles.
Competitors will sign up and be informed about the rules and expectations of the cypher jam. The jam will be observed by a judge(s) over a 45 minute period.
The judge will then select 2 of the best dancers who best represents themselves and the essence of cyphers for a battle for the Cypher Royalty crown.
The two competitors will go until one side gives up or the judge identifies a clear winner.
Free cypher time will occur before and after the judges portion.
The event will also include prizes for R&B related themes, such as best R&B outfit and best rendition of classic R&B stereotypes.
This is an ALL-Ages, donation based event.
